We decided it was time to add a proper ‘wide-range’ humbucker to the Alan Entwistle Pickups range, and it comes in the shape of the nickel-cased Fire Star, with its striking double row of screw pole-pieces. The combination of a low DCR and Neodymium magnets gives a wide dynamic range but without compromising the output power, hence it will keep up with any modern pickup while delivering shimmering highs and rich harmonics through its tonal range. 

If you are looking for a humbucker that won’t darken your tone and lets your fingers give their ultimate expression then the Fire Star is probably what you are looking for. 

These humbucker pickups are wax potted, but unlike modern pickup designs they are not vacuum processed as this reduces the natural gaps in the windings, which is partly responsible for the vintage flavour and response. Try it clean, crunchy or full-on!

Our overwound version of the classic late ’50s, vintage-spec humbucker, crafted with Alnico V magnetics, enamel-coated winding wire, scatter-wound coils, and hard-Nickel pole-pieces. Great for coil splitting. These guitar pickups are overwound, so expect more power, and more warmth than the standard version.

While wax potted for stability, unlike modern designs, they are not vacuum processed, thus preserving the natural gaps in the windings crucial for vintage flavour and response.

Choose between our ‘Nickel’, ‘Dark Gold’ or ‘White Gold’ coloured, adjustable pole pieces and Black, White or Zebra bobbins in the drop-down boxes. The HVX represents a versatile medium-output humbucker pickup. Picture a hotter PAF, with enhanced top-end, slightly nasal mids and a tight bottom end. Essentially, an over-wound HV58 (like the HV58 PLUS) but with a Ceramic magnet, giving it a distinct tonal quality.

The HVX performs well with coil-splitting and parallel wiring. It also excels when wired out of phase with another HVX guitar pickup.

This is the Neodymium version of the Dark Star, taking things to the next level, proving popular with the metalhead Entwistle fans. It is quite possibly the worlds most powerful passive humbucker. The bridge position has a similar DCR to the HDN, but  has a different tonal character due to it’s different winding pattern.

We’ve taken the concept of the Nemesis to the next level with the AFG (Asymmetrical Field Generator). The name says it all. The Nemesis AFG has a central Alnico V bar magnet, paired with a Ceramic magnet on the blade side of the pickup, creating the asymmetrical magnetic field. This results in a more authentic single-coil sound with minimal volume-drop when the coil split is activated.

Inspired by the classic, chrome-covered mini-humbucker design of the fifties, ours boasts a slightly higher output than a PAF-style pickup, along with enhanced brightness and clarity. This is the classic Nashville-style humbucker, renowned for its bright and twangy tone, making it perfect for Country Rock, Rockabilly, Rock ‘n Roll, and early 60’s British Rhythm ‘n Blues. Crafted with Alnico V magnets, it offers an authentic vintage flavour., capable of crisp cleans but with the ability to handle gain incredibly well.

Available with either ‘Arms’ (typically for scratch-plate mounting) or ‘Thru-Hole’ (usually for direct-to-body mounting) fixing options. Please ensure you choose the correct option for your guitar. Contact us BEFORE purchase if you are unsure.

Introducing the Neodymium version of our Nashville Classic – Everything you love about the standard Nashville Classic, but cranked up to 11! Expect exceptionally bright and twangy tones with increased output……..making it ideal for Country Rock, Rockabilly, Rock ‘n Roll, and early 60’s British Rhythm ‘n Blues, but if you want to ramp up the gain then the Nashville Classic ND humbucker performs incredibly well.

PICKUP RINGS (NASHVILLE ND / HV MINIONLY)

Choose a Nickel-coloured, metal pickup ring / surround for either the Nashville ND humbucker or HV MINI humbucker. See individual pickup listings for pickup dimensions. Each pickup ring fixes to the guitar body via four screw holes (screws not included).

Nashville ND pickup ring is NOT compatible with the Nashville Classic guitar pickups. The Nashville ND pickups are not mounted through the pickup directly to the guitar body.
